BC House
Type : New Build – Residential
Client : Private Client
Location : Yorkshire
Description :
We were asked by our clients to release the potential of this sloping site, set in a semi rural location. Our solution was to split the site in to two distinct plateaus, providing a spacious driveway level and a secluded private garden to the side and rear of the property. We also proposed an ‘upside down’ layout internally, with the bedrooms on the ground floor and living accommodation on the upper floor.
The bridge from the driveway enters the house on the upper level providing direct access in to the living accommodation via a double height atrium. A spacious lounge located at the rear of the building makes the most of the views over the Garden and views beyond.
Locating the house on the lower plateau, reduced the impact of the property, when viewed from the road, which addressed the concerns of the Local Planning Authority, established during the Pre Planning Application consultation.
